Mathematical written formalism results in a communication language that resembles closely to structures from a formal language. It is not surprising that many great mathematicians were also important language scholars. Significant mathematical advances occurred after some important structural proposals were made. In this paper, a comparative analysis is made pointing out the differences between traditional languages and mathematical language. Also, a speculative preview as for a possible developing path is made for the mathematical language.
