Chance plays a decisive role for living beings. In the case of microorganisms subject to the unexpected, it is possible to use mathematical models to describe and predict the average behavior; that is, at the level of a colony or when observing an individual over a long time. In this text we focus on describing the walks that organisms such as bacteria and diatoms carry out at the microscale, a world where chance can be found around every corner.
