Abstract

The Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) is a key country in Middle East, for it shows an important counterweight by having a Shiite majority; it is also a counterpart to the influence of the West in this region. In the present work it is proposed to expose how is that Iran has accomplished this privileged position within the region and on the International System nowadays, specifically after the 1979 Revolution, a key point that marked a new era for this country.
