Denisse Pohls Pérez studied at the Carlos Septién García School of Journalism in Mexico City. She has collaborated with the international agency Associated Press (AP), Revista Replicante and Reforma. In addition to being a photojournalist, she is a writer. In Cozumel, where she has lived for four years, she has initiated the Itinerant Poetry movement to promote the authors of the island. This is how she began her photographic adventure of marine life.
In the images of Vida Marina, the photographer captures the essence of the animals and the precise moment to take the photograph. One of the most striking photos of this project is a white turtle that seems to be flying; the reflection of light on the water generates the appearance of small scattered clouds and, because of the position, the turtle's flippers are transformed into wings.
