Abstract

Thinking about the development of a city is complex. There are multiple perspectives in which some social dynamics can be perceived. One of them consists of recognizing that in León there are a small number of entrepreneurs in the goods and services sector, and a few others in the footwear sector, who are highly competitive and dynamic, but who do not cover the entire economy.
In this environment, mainly small and medium-sized footwear companies, and those associated with this sector, have succumbed, having to close, or in the best of cases, selling their companies and businesses to return to the "rentier" model. Another minority group of businessmen has entered the world of speculation in the financial system, leaving aside their productive vocation and generating a phenomenon of transferring their profits to consumer goods: luxury cars, houses, golf clubs and real estate investments in Nuevo Vallarta, Nayarit, especially.
