An approach to international cooperation in networks for the development of local governments

Being aware that we live in a world that is constantly changing, today cities have become relevant actors at a global level. In order to exercise their International Relations without totally relying on national foreign policy, there are mechanisms such as cooperation network between cities that allow local governments to acquire the tools and resources to accomplish their development agendas. This practice, which has been strengthen as a reference for international development cooperation, has important promoters such as the Euro-Latin American Alliance for Cooperation between Cities, also known as AL-LAs Project in its acronym in Spanish, which has collaborated in numerous projects that allowed the insertion of several American cities in an increasingly globalized world
