Abstract

The gentrification process is a spatially ubiquitous dynamic, having strong implications and differentiated local expressions. This article analyses the situation of the urban public space and its transformations, from the unleashing of commercial gentrification processes in totally different urban contexts: Santiago, Chile and Seoul, in South Korea, studying the neighbourhoods of Barrio Italia and Itaewon-Dong respectively.
