The article highlights the relevance and importance of the right to free expression and the need for tolerance in the world of today. Voltaire’s philosophical work is commented upon. The use of philosophy and irony are suggested as remedies in the fight for tolerance. The theme of tolerance is discussed as found in certain literary works. The article concludes inviting one to accept that truth is not the sole domain of any one person and asking the reader to be authentically modern.
