Abstract

Gender violence is not a current topic, but its public knowledge and academic analysis has been developed a few decades. Women were and are a vulnerable group and victims of inequalities in the society. In order to understand the situation, we need to consider many concepts.
The duality between sex and gender should be known. Gender doesn’t represent biologic concepts in which we can find social stereotypes.
In this situation, violence against women can be developed in all dimensions. Mexico represents a country in which women are daily victims of violence. The extreme expression of this violence is femicide. Three states of the Mexican Republic are in a dangerous situation for the increment of femicides percentages. Femicide is in Guanajuato a second theme in the public policy. This article wants to release this “famous” topic and at the same time the unknown factors and reasons.
