Abstract

The gender inequality existing in the patriarchal/macho societies like ours, is an indelible mark that affects everybody’s integral development, establishes life conditions and models different and unequal destinies for both women and men. This kind of inequality negatively affects foremost women, since they endure discrimination and gender violence from early ages to the last stage of life, the elderly.

In this paper we’ll show some of the negative effects that young teenagers, mature adults and elder women have lived due the discrimination and the gender violence they have experienced. In order to accomplish this objective, we’re using results out of the author’s research made in the city of León, Gto. (México), where data was collected from the same women through interviews and questionnaires personally applied to know feelings and experiences out of their own voices regarding school dropout in adolescence, emotional impact from violence received and the aging experience as a woman.
