Abstract

The great paradox of our times is that, living in the so-called ‘information age’, can be a lot of misinformation. The technology-society relationships pose challenges to educational systems because its contents have little or nothing to do with what is happening in the ‘real world’. In this text the ‘misinformation’ is discussed using various statistics about reading habits, educational performance, internet connection, etc. Some results of a questionnaire administered to 296 students in two public universities in Mexico are also presented: UNAM and UAM-Iztapalapa.
