Abstract

In this work we show, in a succinct manner, general aspects and some of the applications of Ionic Liquids (IL), going into the aspects related to separation processes that use IL as a solvent or extractant, with the objective of developing separation techniques that have a minimum impact on the environment (sustainable separation techniques), both for the recovery of contaminating species and for the recovery of species with an important added value.
