This article seeks to contribute to the relevance of studying gender and social cohesion today in the light of the global transformations that have taken place in recent decades, as well as the profound impacts this has had on individuals and their families. In the first part, some of the most important difficulties in the world and in Latin America are addressed, then the terms close to social cohesion are discussed in order to define it. Finally, the central importance of considering the category of gender in the study of social cohesion is discussed.
