Abstract

The purpose of this article is to explain that the origin of eating disorders includes several factors, among which are the psychological, the family environment specifically, the sociocultural environment and the genetic part. The origin of the disorders at early ages, related to psychological problems associated with improper care of the baby, as well as the psychological profile that families of anorexics have in common, is discussed. Finally, it is concluded that there is no main factor in the generation of the disease, and for this reason these disorders must be approached in an integral way.
