One of the points of agreement in most of the critical diagnoses of the present is that, after the post-war context, Western society underwent a series of far-reaching economic, technological, political, ideological and cultural transformations that are what today give sustenance and texture to contemporary social reality, to the extent that we speak of it as a "consumer society", an "information society" or a "society of emptiness", to mention only a few formulas, in an attempt to grasp conceptually what is most characteristic and specific of late capitalism.
