Structural violence in the face of the citizenship process

Based on the recognition of the various dimensions of structural violence, this article sets out to examine some of the mechanisms by which it is currently perpetuated in Mexico, by describing the effects of the militarization of public security, the discrimination accentuated by the justice system and the forms of State action against the mobilizing society. It is proposed as a valid instrument for overcoming poverty, the adoption of a human rights perspective in State policies in Mexico, both in the economic and social sphere, as well as in the area of public security and crime containment.
