Abstract

The purpose of this essay is to analyze the participation of the Armed Forces in public security functions based on the question: violence or aggression, by the army in its actions as law enforcement officers. In this order of ideas, the legal instruments that regulate public security functions are jointly analyzed in relation to the application of violence in the legal and legitimate exercise of force, of which the State is empowered in certain cases; however, the analysis is focused on comparing whether the Armed Forces comply with the guidelines for such functions and the consequences caused by the lack of such compliance.
