Leisure, as we know it today, is a social phenomenon that was born with the consolidation of modern industrialized societies, in which, little by little, elements such as the reduction of the working week and the increase in the consumption capacity of large social masses took shape. The social phenomenon of leisure has developed in a similar way in societies oriented by Western culture and, slowly, has been occupying an increasingly important place in the lives of its members.
