Abstract

This article analyzes the figure of Doña Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez from a historical and symbolic perspective, highlighting her role in the Mexican independence movement. Through a narrative that combines historical and fictional elements, it reflects on her influence in shaping national identity and constructing the homeland as a maternal figure. The text explores how Josefa challenged the social norms of her time and how her legacy continues to inspire emancipation and resistance movements.
