Peer review process

As a quality academic journal, Entretextos is committed to submitting each article that has been submitted —in sección temática or sección abierta― to a strict review process, in which each stage must be approved in order to move on to the next one:

  1. Editorial. Once the author has submitted his/her article through this platform, the responsible editor will verify that it complies with the section policies and alignments; in addition, he/she may request modifications or make recommendations he/she considers necessary to adjust the document to the journal's indications.
  2. Academic. If the editorial opinion is approved, the article will be sent to two specialists in the field (blind peer reviewers), who may be external to Ibero León. Both authors and reviewers remain anonymous.

The result of each opinion can be:

  • accepted,
  • accepted with modifications,
  • not accepted.

Peer reviewers will have a period of 15 working days to issue their opinion; however, the conclusion of this process is subject to the workload of the specialists to whom the article has been assigned. It is important to consider that they are not offered any type of economic retribution. The result of this evaluation will be informed to the author through the OJS platform.

Final decisions are based on three scenarios:

  1. If the article receives two unfavorable opinions, it is not published and the author is notified of the reasons preventing it.
  2. When the article obtains a favorable opinion, but with modifications and an unfavorable one, the author is informed that the work will be reviewed by a third specialist, as long as he/she makes the necessary adjustments requested by the reviewer and complies with the deadline.
  3. If the article is accepted, but with modifications, the author will have to attend to the observations and recommendations of the evaluators, and will send a new version of the article to the responsible editor within the indicated deadline in order to continue with the editorial process. The responsible editor will verify that the reviewers' recommendations have been followed and will analyze those that have not been taken into account.

The Editorial Committee is based on the reviewers' recommendations to determine whether an article that has been reviewed and, if necessary, modified by the author is published; this decision is final. This body is not committed to publishing all the contributions received and reserves the right to reassign the number of the journal in which the articles proposed for sección temática will be published.
