The meaning of consuming a virtual band

Abstract

In the next academic paper we analyze the meaning that comes with the action of consuming Gorillaz like a virtual music band and how the band generates the engagement around it. This article is based on the investigation of their history and story and on the analysis of their media products, concluding that one of the most important reasons why this gives meaning is because of the different media that is used, the transmedia storytelling, and the link of it with the tendencies of every stage of the band.
