A vision of transformation in the face of the knowledge society

Abstract

The perspective that the university has had in its role as educator and source of knowledge has been reaffirmed and modified; however, it continues to maintain its role as a generator of knowledge and as responsible for the formation of invaluable resources: learning and human capital. With the above ideas as a framework, the purpose of this article is to present the author's vision of some of the challenges facing the university in view of the concept of the knowledge society, which allows us to consider that instruction not only crosses all social features, but also recognizes the individual as an essential element, a repository of knowledge and a key capital for competitiveness.
