Abstract

Disruptive technological advances, as well as the globalization of markets, have impacted the evolution of business operations. The adoption of systems associated with the Internet has led to an increase in connected users who are integrated into a global information society, where Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been limited beyond the technological field. Organizations make use of this tool to apply it for work purposes, focused on making processes within their entities more efficient. The objective of this research is to relate the concepts of Industry 4.0 and AI to propose the immediate implications for jobs in Mexican SMEs. The research approach applied is documentary type from secondary sources. The reports considered are from specialized firms that account for current trends for the companies analyzed. The findings show that around 25% of executives use AI for business purposes, as well as IAG is anticipated to cause significant or disruptive changes in the nature of competition in their respective industries in the next three years.
