One of the faces of the global world is technological and scientific progress that is changing at a dizzying pace, opening up previously unthinkable possibilities for health care, communication and knowledge, for example; in short, it would seem that physical and cultural distances are shortening. Another face of globalization is its selectivity, which makes benefits reach only one group of people and denies them to others, who usually only receive the negative consequences of the unfeasibility of the economic and development models implemented.
