The changes that we have observed in Mexico in recent years in relation to the democratization process have incorporated women in an unprecedented manner in different areas: the increase in higher education enrollment, their growing presence in the labor market in organizations of all kinds, their incursion into politics, their participation at different levels of government and in the media. However, traditional positions and images that correspond to roles of subordination can be observed coexisting with others that place them in situations of equality, sometimes on the formal level, sometimes in the real opportunity to exercise it.
