Abstract

This review offers a critical reading of the book The Researcher’s Craft: Methodological Reflections and Experiences in Social and Political Research, a collective work coordinated by Magdalena Galindo and Enrique de la Garza. The volume brings together diverse voices of Latin American scholars who, from their academic trajectories, share experiences, tensions, findings, and methodological reflections on the practice of research in the social sciences. Rather than presenting methodological recipes, the book invites us to think of research as a situated craft, traversed by ethical dilemmas, epistemological decisions, and political contexts. The review highlights the relevance of this work for students in training, as well as for those seeking to critically understand the implications of the act of researching, and it emphasizes the value of making personal narratives visible in the processes of knowledge construction.
