The intention of abandonment, considered as a precedent of staff turnover, attracts researchers; some analyzes focus on the direct relationships between work stress and staff turnover, as well as its various organizational consequences. Others consider the mediating role of the abandonment intention as a precursor to the rotation of personnel through stress. The purpose of this research is the design and testing of a questionnaire to know the intention of abandonment as a result of the consequences of work stress in workers who hold administrative positions and managers of the footwear industry of the city of Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico from a factorial approach, in a sample of 898 directors of Leon’s footwear industry. The results show two factors that influence the intention to abandon: the effects of stress with three areas: psychological, motor and behavior; and the signs of stress. The correlation of these factors with the intention of abandonment was significant.
