Abstract

Mexico represents for Ford Motor Company a country full of opportunities that has generated important economic benefits in recognition of the quality of its vehicles and its social responsibility. However, with Donald Tump’s arrival to the presidency of the United States of America, Ford´s corporate image was threatened by announcing in January 2017 the decision to withdraw its investment for the creation of a new vehicle assembly in the state of San Luis Potosi that prospected to strengthen its level of social responsibility by projecting the creation of thousands of direct and indirect jobs. The objective of the research is to know the perception of the future graduate students from Universidad Iberoamericana campus Leon in the state of Guanajuato from the bachelor’s degree in International Trade, about Ford’s cancellation of its investment in San Luis Potosi as a lack of social responsibility. The results were significant and among them it is affirmed that the decision was a lack of social responsibility.
