Discovering and cultivating inner strengths through sessions of dramatic expression
An applied drama intervention on a special education context

This article seeks to share part of the project “Application of Curricular Innovation in the social area through Forum Theater and Theatrical Pedagogy in Santa Juliana Special School”, financed thanks to a fund for the Promotion of Art in Education (FAE) of the Ministry of Arts and Cultures in Chile. The project is based on the notion that through the expressive, playful and experiential possibilities of drama education applied on the Social Area and Orientation Subjects, students can acquire meaningful learning. Part of the process is exposed and the intervention context is described: students with special educational needs in a special education school in Recoleta (Santiago, Chile).
