The presidential elections of 2018 represent for Mexico an appropriate moment for the detailed dissection of the proposals presented by each of the coalitions and parties involved. Unlike the superficial analyzes that disqualify a priori the approaches, it is necessary to introduce new angles for a well-founded debate without falling into a naive adhesion that does not consider the pulse of the electoral times. With the incipient information available, his article aims to provide some ideas to carefully observe what each registered Coalition proposes for the achievement of the social rights of the population. This is done using the theory of the welfare regime, introduced by some authors such as Gosta Esping-Adersern and which refers to the specific weight provided by the spheres of the State, the market and the family in the search for better living standards. Each Coalition proposes different arrangements between these three spheres and opts for welfare regimes with different shades. The analysis is only a first step that will be fully completed when the strategies of the government program that each Coalition proposes are clarified and specified
