This article presents the results of an investigation that is nestled in the functionalist paradigm, based on the construct generated among young people, about the uses and gratifications of social networks through mobile devices, such as a hallmark of the hyperconnected generations. The social actors are students of the Faculty of communication at the Universidad Veracruzana. The methodology used is the qualitative through the focused interview, under the approach to the theory of uses and Gratifications, which, among other things, points out that: the public is displayed as an active media content user rather than as a passive user influenced by them. What do the students with social networks? It is the purpose of this research report.
